Sentinel 118BT Bakelite Tabletop (1938)

I picked up this old Sentinel for $15 from an antique mall which has proved to be quite the radio hunting ground. It is where I have found five other radios, including my Zenith 312, Crosley 127, RCA 8-X-541, General Television Model 49, and Detrola 134. Needless to say, I keep going back! For $15, I could not pass this one up. The case is in good shape, but needs a polish. One of the louvers has a tight stress crack, but it is barely noticeable.

I peeked inside the radio before I bought it, and saw some hornet's nests, and chewed up looking wires. It looks like this one spent some time in a barn. What I didn't notice, however, was that this is an old battery radio. Therefore, I will probably not attempt any electronic restoration. I have so many working radios to listen to already, and I'm not comfortable building a battery eliminator (and I don't want to try and dig up the old batteries for this one!) Who knows, maybe a battery eliminator will be a possibility in the future..
