Crosley 167 Tombstone (1934)

I picked up this Crosley Tombstone after a race in Anderson, IN. The finish is in perfect shape, with the only cosmetic defect being the lack of two knobs. This one will remain on the shelf while I search for a couple of knobs.

I haven't even plugged this radio in to see what condition the electronics are in. The chassis is very dusty and grimy (as usual). Once I have the knobs in, I'll take a closer look at the electronics.

The model number is hard to read on this radio, but it begins with a 1 and ends with a 7, and is three digits. Using this information, I have deduced that is is the model 167. This set was known as the "Dual Fiver Tombstone." See another Crosley 167.

It would appear that the grille cloth on my example is not original.
