Just for the heck of it, I stopped at an antique mall in Crown Point,
Indiana, on the way to a wedding in Milwaukee. This great clock radio
was there, waiting for me, for only $22.50. I was in a hurry, so
I didn't even bother to plug it in. All the knobs are there,
it's in decent shape, and the back is there, so I gladly paid the lady,
and it was
mine!
When I got home, I was expecting to plug it in, hear the normal loud
hum, and see the second hand frozen on the clock. Much to my surprise,
the second hand on the clock began to sweep immediately, and I was able
to tune in a local station without any hum. It worked perfectly!
What a find! Now, I just need to clean the case up a bit more. There
are a few paint chips, but I don't think this one is a candidate for
repainting. It looks pretty good as-is.
