This Zenith was my first wooden radio. The case was in pretty pathetic
shape when I bought it. Unfortunately, I do not have a "before"
picture. The finish was badly flaking, and the brass piece was black
with old grime. I stripped the case with a furniture refinisher, and
restained and lacquered it. The brass piece cleaned up quite well.
The radio worked as found. I did some minor cleaning, and
replaced a dead pilot lamp. It could probably stand to be recapped, but
since it works as is, I'll wait until I have no other projects!
This radio is a close relative of the
Zenith 6D015, another radio in
my collection.
