I bought this beautiful Stromberg Carlson radio off of E-bay for a great
price. It's one of the nicest radios in my collection. Immediately
after winning the auction, someone e-mailed me and
offered me twice what I had paid for it. The case is beautiful, with
an original finish that has been well cared for.
The radio was sold as-is, and the seller said that it was completely
dead. When I received the radio, it was dead, and the dial cord was
broken. I re-strung the dial cord, and tested all the tubes in the radio.
Sure enough, the 35Z5GT tube was dead. Once that was replaced, the radio
worked great! It didn't even need any capacitor work. This one sits
right next to my bed.
