On the electronic side, the radio needs new electrolytic capacitors.
When powered on, it emits the standard loud hum that is a symptom of
that problem. This one will probably wait until this winter to be
fixed. I've got quite a backlog!
I purchased this Sentinel radio off of E-bay. The picture on the
ad was very fuzzy and distorted, and it was hard to tell what the
radio looked like. The seller also mentioned that the radio did
not work. I put in a very low bid, and no doubt because of the
picture quality and non-working status, I got the radio. When I
opened up the package, I was pleasantly surprised. This is a
really great looking black bakelite radio, with circular dial
and two knobs. The case is in excellent shape, aside from being
a little dusty.
