This Air King tabletop was in truly pathetic shape as found (I wish I had taken a before picture..). The finish was destroyed, perhaps through a previous botched restoration attempt. I have since stripped the cabinet, and applied a light walnut stain to some areas. As you can see, the top of the radio has a large variation in the color of the wood. The final step will be to cover the entire radio with a coat of light brown toning lacquer to disguise the variations in color. I need to order some light brown lacquer, and then I can finish this one!

Electronically, the radio worked great as found. I suspect it had been worked on in the past - it had a new cord. There is no hum, and it pulls in the stations just great!
